The Program

The RoboLions have built one of New Jersey's most consistently competitive FRC programs from Robbinsville High School. In a state sandwiched between the powerhouse FRC scenes of New England and the Mid-Atlantic, Team 1261 has carved out a reputation as a program that develops complete engineers — students who can design, build, program, and compete at the highest level.

New Jersey's location between New York and Philadelphia gives the RoboLions access to a diverse mentor pool drawn from pharmaceutical, financial technology, and manufacturing industries. This cross-industry exposure gives students a broader perspective on engineering than teams anchored to a single industry. A RoboLions student might learn manufacturing processes from a pharma engineer and control systems from a fintech developer in the same season.

The team's robots are known for solid engineering fundamentals and smart game strategy. The RoboLions do not chase flashy mechanisms or risky design choices — they build robots that execute the fundamentals of each year's game reliably and efficiently. This disciplined approach has produced consistent results and multiple Mid-Atlantic regional wins, earning them a reputation as one of the most dependable teams in the region.

The RoboLions' alumni pipeline feeds into Rutgers, Stevens Institute of Technology, NJIT, and other New Jersey engineering schools, as well as top-tier programs across the country. For Robbinsville High School students, the robotics program transforms their understanding of what engineering is — not an abstract concept from a textbook, but a hands-on practice that they have been doing since freshman year.
