Re: timhoward’s blog –  THIS IS A RESPONSE TO AN EMAIL CHAIN

I don’t know about that. Each quarter that profits are printed and income taxes are paid… meanwhile government entities do no such thing: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Exempt-&-Government-Entities-Division-At-a-Glance
with the businesses having paid back more than they’ve been paid, and that disparity growing, the tone changing, and the lawlessness of what has transpired being brought to the forefront as well as the reality being that they actually produce good in the world for millions of people and there is no alternative plan that is better…
painfully obvious is where that leaves us…. is the government really posturing to prepare to go public with all that they’ve done?
haha, last I checked there’s nothing in it for them to drag this out, although I can’t say the same for their legal teams… as far as I can tell the distance to which this will be dragged is to the point where they run the risk of looking completely incompetent.
imagine you’re part of the government. the upside for you changes from paycheck to drastically negative once discovery starts really rolling in… now, I can’t speak to timelines here but eDiscovery is kind of a pain in the neck and I can’t really speak to what technology they are using exactly to check this stuff… (I was in the eDiscovery business from a director of finance perspective)
data comes in and you process it as quickly as you can, and if you’re systems are good you can have lawyers engage in parallel document review and really start nailing stuff down…. I don’t know how big this is… I can however speak to some of the size of the larger cases that I’ve seen… it gets absolutely wild.. depending on how many TB of data we are talking about we are in the neighborhood of anywhere from $5M-$40M I’d say… but I have no idea really (this price would be eDiscovery + Doc Review).
I think that, much like the way books are structured, if we move with that analogy, once the outcome becomes pretty well known across the people that there’s no way that they are going to be able to steal this company from us and or shut it down, the conversation that has already begun to change course will swing back to being in significant favor way before you’d think it would…
hundreds of billions up for grabs… politician or not, that’s something you want a piece of, regardless of who you are… and I firmly believe that people are greedy…. above all others.. and that we can count on this greedy principle, if you will, to grease the gears to spin this back into the private sector….. and the government can still keep it’s taxes..
speaking of which, is anyone totaling the total payments to treasury, including taxes?
what gives.. follow the money… follow who takes the money… you only think it’s the government because that’s what you read in headlines and in pundit articles, the real profit grab is about to happen and it’s shareholder, homeowner, and people friendly
